Some 'hanging on' for king scallop season
The Island's fishing industry is facing the perfect storm of high fuel prices and subdued market prices.
The Manx Fish Producers' Association says that despite good queen scallop catches many boats are operating at a loss.
Fuel inflation means owners are paying around two and a half times more for diesel - meanwhile there's no sign of an imminent improvement to market prices for their produce.
