Food supplier outlines expected no-deal Brexit impact

Delays would hit salad and berries hardest

Salad and berry supplies on the Island would be the main casualties in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

Member for Ramsey Lawrie Hooper has been asking the chief minister what contingency plans are in place in relation to food supply, in the event of the UK crashing out.  

A reduction in the flow of goods at Dover port and via the Eurotunnel could impact the availability of some types of fresh fruit and veg, according to Howard Quayle.

He says the additional ferry crossings required to get the food here will not have an impact.
