The former chairman of the Isle of Man Post Office says his stance has been vindicated – after Tynwald backed his opposition to corporatising the body.

Yesterday, government plans to turn the statutory board into a company were defeated at the vote, just weeks after Graham Cregeen MHK was sacked for disagreeing with the Post Office board about the proposals.

Mr Cregeen says he feels badly-treated over the affair, and the proposals simply didn’t have enough detail for him to support them.

And he suspects his sacking may have been political manoeuvring in the run-up to the general election:
