
Westmoreland Road site has undergone £11million transformation
Around 70 percent of the homes created by the redevelopment of the former nurses home in Douglas have already been let.
Thie Clag officially opened this week having undergone an £11 million transformation into a 37-unit, energy efficient apartment block.

The Manx Development Corporation confirmed it received around 200 enquiries in the first four days after advertising the Westmoreland Road site.
It's the first project to be completed by the MDC, an arms length company set up by government in 2021 to re-develop brownfield sites.

Meanwhile, Mayor of Douglas has welcomed the work that's given the former nurses home on Westmoreland Road a new purpose.

Former Douglas Councillor, Andrew Bentley told Manx Radio he is impressed with the work carried out.
Mr Bentley is a member of the Isle of Man Green Party and an architect by profession.
He described it as a building with 'a strong historic pedigree':
