Green Living Grant Scheme goes live

Up to £6k on offer to help lower carbon emissions

The government's new Green Living Grant Scheme has gone live following Tynwald approval in July.

Up to £6,000 is available to help householders reduce carbon emissions and energy bills, by making their properties more energy efficient.

The Scheme is in two parts - a Manx Home Energy Audit, and then funding of up to 50 per cent of the cost of energy saving solutions identified by the audit.

The Home Energy Audits are based on the UK Energy Performance Certificate, and will provide an overall energy rating, along with a list of energy saving solutions in priority order for each property.

To qualify for funding homeowners, landlords and tenants must be in receipt of the certificate, and have a gross household annual income of below £112,000 before tax allowances. Also the rating given for their property must be D or lower.
