We're hearing that two candidates will be vying for the chief minister position next week.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas has already published his manifesto outlining his priorities if he were to be elected.

He's been proposed by Ramsey MHK Rob Cowell and seconded by Middle member Jane Poole-Wilson.

Meanwhile Manx Radio understands newly-elected Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Kirrie Jenkins is also in the running.

She's been proposed by Glenfaba and Peel's Katryna Baptist and seconded by Stephen Broad in Ayre and Michael.

The House of Keys will vote for their preferred candidate during their first sitting of this administration next Tuesday (13 October).
