The roads around the airport also 'also icy'

The runway at Ronaldsway Airport is currently closed due to 'hard ice'.

In a statement online, officials say despite significant de-icing treatment applied yesterday evening, the team is again working hard to de-ice the runway and taxiways.

It is, however, unlikely to be effective in the coming hours and will affect flight schedules.

Passengers are asked to 'please be patient as staff do their best to resume operations as soon as it is safe to do so'.

It adds passengers should allow extra time when travelling as road conditions in the vicinity of the airport are also icy.

A yellow weather warning for ice and wintry showers remains in place until midday on Monday.
