Hartford Homes unveils Ramsey development proposal

Plans to go on display at Ramsey Town Hall

Plans have been unveiled for a significant residential development on the outskirts of Ramsey.

The company behind the proposals, Hartford Homes, has given notice of a public consultation, to take place at Ramsey Town Hall on Tuesday the 7th of March between 4pm and 8pm.

The proposed development would be located at The Vollan, adjacent to Bride Road in North Ramsey. The site is earmarked for development on the existing area plan, which dates back to 1998.

No formal planning application has yet been lodged by the company, but a site drawing shows a substantial mixed housing development with allocated space for community facilities, including a children's play area and a possible future school.

Meanwhile the company's plans for a large residential development on the edge of Douglas have been revised.

A proposed 68 bed retirement home has been removed from the scheme.

Hartford has proposals for up to 320 homes on land to the west of Douglas Rugby Club. The plans include the provision of a nursery and what's termed as a neighbourhood centre.
