Health Minister defends joining government after no-confidence vote

She remains confident she can fix the issues facing the health service

The new health minister says she entered politics to make a 'positive difference' and is prepared to face the challenges of leading her department.

Claire Christian was appointed to the Council of Ministers just over a week ago, and has outlined her priorities as maintaining service levels, ensuring value for money, and driving efficiencies across the health body.

Despite supporting a no-confidence vote against the Chief Minister less than two months ago, Ms Christian says joining his administration gives her greater influence over major policy decisions.

She says her 'strong sense of duty' is what motivated her to step up:
