Heathrow means IoM is 'one stop to the world'

Flybe chief executive meets MHKs at Ronaldsway

"One stop to the world".

That's how the chief executive of Flybe has descibed the introduction of flights to London Heathrow from the Isle of Man.

Christine Ourmières-Widener has met with MHKs and the director of ports at Ronaldsway.

It follows the announcement of the service last week, for flights to start from 21 April.

Mrs Ourmières-Widener says Flybe will then reevaluate the flights in October, and monitor the success in the first few months especially.

She says the airline is already optimistic, after more than 200 bookings were made on the day of the announcement last week (28 March), and adds Heathrow presents the Island with a new opportunity:
