Safety gear saved my life says bruised biker

Racer underlines importance of protective equipment

An Island racer who survived a scare at Silverstone has highlighted the importance of safety gear.

Adam Williams came off his bike at speeds in excess of 135mph when competing in the No Limits Racing Championships.

The high-speed crash saw Adam suffer a broken tibia, and fractures to his vertebrae and shoulder but no life-threatening injuries.

He's hoping his lucky escape will serve as a reminder for other bikers to treat safety as paramount:
