Structure dismantled after severe flooding through village
The Department of Infrastructure has removed the weir from Laxey River, which was at the centre of major floods in the village this week.
A build up of logs and branches around the structure has been largely blamed for why the flooding down Glen Road was so severe.
Garff MHK Martyn Perkins posted pictures of the weir being removed on his public Facebook page.
Manx National Heritage has in the past argued the structure is of historical significance.
