History made as King Charles III Proclaimed Lord of Mann

People visiting the Island from abroad call the event a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to see

History is being made as the Proclamation of King Charles III gets underway.

The Island's Lieutenant-Governor Sir John Lorimer will make a second proclamation which will recognise the new monarch as Lord of Mann.

But it's not just people from the Island who are witnessing the events.

These people are visiting from the States, who have called the the ceremony a once in a lifetime opportunity:

Meanwhile, Manx Radio's Lewis Foster has been speaking with other attendees to ask what makes the day important to them:

Members of Tynwald and the Lieutenant Governor began the ceremony with a church service - led by the Lord Bishop of Sodor and Man.

The service closed with the congregation singing the National Anthem and God Save The King:

After the service, those involved in the proclamation ceremony made their way to the Hill to be seated.

The court was then fenced in both English and Manx after which the Lieutenant Governor then proclaimed His Majesty, King Charles III as Lord of Mann:

Once the ceremony had finished and the proclamation proceedings had come to a close, Chief Minister Alfred Cannan spoke to Manx Radio to reflect on today's events:

Memories and tributes to Her Majesty, the Queen continue to be paid.

While working for the BBC, Ella Slack was a rehearsal stand-in for Her Majesty over 50 times.

She would help cameras set up their shots, as well as making sure the sun wouldn't be in the Queen's eyes.

She told Manx Radio there was one strict rule she had to follow:
