Hopes protests won't disrupt ceremony

Environment minister speaks ahead of Tynwald ceremony

The environment minister says he hopes that any demonstrations at today's Tynwald ceremony won't disrupt proceedings.

Climate emergency protestors are expected to be present at today's ceremony at St John's, during which new laws are promulgated.

Geoffrey Boot says he has no direct knowledge of any planned demonstration, but whilst protestors are always welcome to make their point on the national day, he believes moves are already being taken to address the climate emergency.
