Hyperbaric chamber to reopen

New charity to take over facility

The Isle of Man's hyperbaric chamber has been given a new lease of life, and is due to reopen 'as soon as possible'.

The facility has been out of action since June last year, after faults were discovered in both chambers.

A new charity - to be known as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Isle of Man - has been set up by a group of supporters of this type of medicine.

It will take over the running of the facility imminently.

Chairman Ean Radcliffe paid tribute to the previous one which had operated it since its inception 35 years ago.

He said: "The members of the Kevin Gray Memorial Charity should be truly proud of providing such a wonderful service over many years. I would like to put on record my sincere appreciation for all that they have done."

Due to data protection, HBOT IoM is asking all patients who were being treated up to the chamber's closure last year to get in touch with their preferred contact details.

They're asked to call Debbie Barron on 626394, between 9am and 3pm.
