Illiam Dhone commemoration today

Annual ceremony takes place at Hango Hill

The annual Illiam Dhone commemoration takes place at Hango Hill today starting at 2pm.

The English oration from Bill Henderson MLC will focus on the importance of the Chronicles of Mann and why they should be returned here from the British Library in London.

Bernard Moffatt will introduce the speakers and says the Manx speech from chairman of Mec Vannin Mark Kermode is likely to be hard hitting:

This will be followed by a wreath laying and a rendition of the National Anthem.

Those attending then have the option of a service at Malew Church, or a more informal get together with Manx music at the Compton Vaults on Parliament Square in Castletown.
