Increased police patrols in Douglas South to tackle anti-social behaviour

Hundreds of searches carried out in Douglas, Onchan and Braddan

Hundreds of people have been stopped and searched since the start of the year - in Dougas, Onchan and Braddan - in a bid to crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Police say they’ve noticed an increase in it in the last six to 12 months.

Officers are working with primary and secondary school children, youth agencies and other partners in the attempt to reduce offending.

Last week a young male received a puncture wound to his abdomen after an incident in Groves Road – something a local MHK said had ‘truly shook’ the Douglas South community.
