Island lifts Poppy Appeal trophy for the 40th time

Over £140,000 was collected

The generosity of the Manx public has again resulted in the Isle of Man winning the Royal British Legion's Poppy Trophy - as the area of Britain raising the most money per head of population in the annual appeal.

Poppy collection organiser, Hilary Cleverley, was presented with the trophy by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Lorimer at a reception at Government House.

Major Charles Wilson is a long-time campaigner for the Royal British Legion.
