Island residents join London climate protests

Extinction Rebellion takes hold of England's capital

Police in London are still trying to deal with ongoing climate change protests, as the English capital has effectively ground to a halt over the past two days.

Supporters of the campaign group Extinction Rebellion have been causing traffic disruption, to make UK politicians pay attention to the issue.

There were more than 120 arrests last night alone.

Many of those were for breaching a police order, instructing activists to stay only around the Marble Arch area.

Four people chained and glued themselves underneath a lorry, which was parked on Waterloo Bridge.

Philippa Tomlinson lives on the Island, and travelled to London for the protests.
