Meteors peak Sunday night into Monday morning
The Island's dark skies should provide a great viewing platform to catch a metoer shower this weekend, more visible in the current clear conditions.
The Quadrantid shower is to peak this evening, into tomorrow morning (3/4 January).
They're an annual appearance, and this year followed a Grand Conjunction over Christmas - where Jupiter and Saturn passed by each other, the closest in a generation.
Howard Parkin of AstroManx says they're often overlooked:
Amber alert issued for ice and wintry showers
Mountain Road closed until Monday
Police warn of 'treacherous conditions' following heavy hail shower
