'Golden opportunity' to showcase Island
The Isle of Man government has put in a bid to host the Island Games in 2029.
It would be the third time the Isle of Man's hosted the event, following the inaugural Games in 1985 and the 2001 meeting.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan says it would 'provide a golden opportunity to showcase the Isle of Man and its rich culture and heritage to a large audience'.

Government estimates the Games could bring 4,000 people to the Island, with an economic boost of around £3.5 million.
The Island was named as preferred hosts four years ago.
The Isle of Man is currently competing at the Games in Guernsey.
