Resident's proposal to convert shelter into storage approved
A Jurby landowner says he is pleased planning permission has been granted to convert an existing bus shelter on his land into private storage.
Last year, the resident says his plans were met with criticism, as the shelter is used by residents and Bus Vannin.
In his application, the owner said he initially thought little of the bus shelter when he purchased the land but has since maintained the structure, regularly cleaning and tidying it.

The application was approved this week, with those wanting to raise an appeal left with 21 days to respond.
In a statement to Manx Radio, the owner says he is working closely with planning and Bus Vannin regarding future shelter provision.
He says when the weather improves, work on both structures will commence concurrently. As the existing shelter is closed off, the new one will be constructed directly behind it, meaning shelter will always be available for those using public transport.
He adds misuse of the current shelter continues in the form of littering and it being used as a toilet.
