85-year-old convicted of five offences
Police have acknowledged the 'courage' of the complainants who came forward to report sexual abuse which happened at the Knottfield children's home.
Today 85-year-old Joseph Henry Marshall was found guilty of five offences - three of indecent assault and two of gross indecency.
He sexually abused two boys, under the age of 16, in the 1970's whilst he was a 'senior house parent' at the home in Douglas.

In a statement to Manx Radio a police spokesperson said: "The Isle of Man Constabulary acknowledge the verdict returned by the jury today in relation to the charges for which Mr Marshall appeared before the Court of General Gaol Delivery and also that of the courage shown by each of the complainants involved in this trial.
"As matters are still live before the court it would be inappropriate for the constabulary to comment any further at this time."
