Routine maintenance will start on the Laxey Wheel this week while it's closed for the winter.
The Lady Isabella will be cleaned, have any vegetation removed, old render replaced and be repainted.
The water wheel was last restored in 2004 for its 150th anniversary.
All work will be carried out by a local team of contractors, employing people from across the Island.
