LFT delivery contract 'goes against procurement policy'

Post Office chair expresses concern over 'gig economy' contract

The chair of the Isle of Man Post Office says government should 'practice what it preaches' after awarding a lateral flow kit delivery contract to an independent courier service.

Julie Edge says she's disappointed the taxpayer-funded service wasn't given the contract.

The Communication Workers Union expressed concerns about the government selecting a 'gig economy' supplier, but the government insists pricing and quality was taken into account.

Ms Edge says the decision goes against the government's procurement policy:

Julie Edge is also standing as a candidate for Onchan in the upcoming House of Keys General Election.

The other candidates for the constituency are Rob Callister, James Cherry and Michael Leather.
