First low noise fireworks display to take place in Port Erin

Island-first to take place this weekend

The Isle of Man's first low-noise firework display will take place on Friday.

Port Erin Commissioners will be trialling the so called 'silent fireworks' on Friday at Port Erin Beach from 7.30pm onwards.

The display, supported by the Domestic Event Fund, could still reach 70 decibels, which is around half the volume of regular fireworks.

While the quieter fireworks cost more chair Godfrey Egee says he hopes it's worth it to alleviate concerns around anxiety in pets and some people:
