Man admits driving on LSD, cannabis and cocaine

Pub staff saw him pushing car along road

A man who tested positive for cocaine, LSD and cannabis has admitted driving while unfit.

Roger Leece of Strang Road in Union Mills pleaded guilty to the offence before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.

The court heard he’d been arrested on West Quay in Ramsey last November after he was spotted pushing his Mercedes along the road by pub staff.

He told police he’d taken a legal high but denied having taken cocaine.

The court heard Leece had given a negative breath test and was tested for drugs because he appeared unsteady and was behaving oddly.

Blood tests showed he was only half of the legal limit for driving for LSD and cannabis, while being twice over for cocaine.

He admitted driving to Ramsey over the Mountain Road, but denied claims he’d hit another vehicle as he backed out of his drive.

He was bailed to appear in court again on Tuesday, March 8
