Manx facilities prove 'we're right at the top' for 2027 Island Games

Ex-IIGA official says organisers may want to develop accommodation options

A former advocate to the International Island Games Association, has hailed the Isle of Man's sporting facilities after it looks set to hold the games in 2027, for a third time.

Geoff Karran, who chaired the Isle of Man Sports Council, as it was then known, and acted as supervisor during the Manx Games in 2001, says the Island is more than capable of hosting the 14 sports. 

He doubts there would be a need to improve on the current offering at the National Sport Centre.

However, Mr Karran believes in light of the growing popularity of the Games, the Island should look to increase its accommodation options:
