Aidan served with the second Battalion of the Parachute regiment
Today (14 June) marks 40 years since the end of the Falklands War.
The conflict, which lasted for 10 weeks, claimed the lives of over 250 British service personnel, nearly 650 Argentine forces and three people from the Falkland Islands.
Aidan Forbes, who now lives on the Isle of Man, was serving with the second Battalion of the Parachute regiment at the time.
In a special programme on Manx Radio tonight, to mark the anniversary, he remembers the moment he first arrived in the Falklands:
You can hear "Falklands at 40 – Aidan’s Story” just after 6pm this evening on Manx Radio with a longer podcast available afterwards at manxradio.com.
