Manx Utilities investigating water pollution

Salt water and diesel ended up in Douglas supply

A full investigation has been launched after water in a confined area of Douglas became polluted.

Residents and businesses in premises on part of North Quay and Church Road in the town had to avoid using water for cooking and washing for 24 hours after sea water and diesel got into the tap water system.

Manx Utilities Chairman Dr Alex Allinson MHK says the emergency procedures kicked in well.
