Ramsey MHK wanted more help for students from disadvantaged backgrounds
This year's budget doesn't offer support to schoolchildren from disadvantaged backgrounds impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
That's the concern raised by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper who was responding to Treasury Minister Alf Cannan's proposed spending plan for the year ahead.
Mr Hooper expressed disappointment over a number of omissions including the lack of increase to the income tax personal allowance.
He believes more could have been done to help those who have had their education disrupted over the last year:
