Enterprise minister insists 'clear structures' in place

An MHK says she fears the Island's work permit system is 'open to abuse'.

Every year the Department for Enterprise carries out 200 visits to employers to ensure the rules on hiring non-Manx workers are being followed.

Onchan member Julie Edge told Manx Radio she's concerned that doesn't go far enough:

Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston admits there are always going to be those who try to exploit the system.

But, he told Manx Radio's Political Correspondent Phil Gawne the majority of breaches on the Island are relatively minor:
