Environment Minister Phil Gawne says he’s disappointed the Island is failing in its carbon footprint ambitions – but says action on renewable energy will still be taken.
A report by the Council of Ministers on producing 15 per cent of the Island power through renewable sources by 2015 will be laid before Tynwald this month.
It says wind, biomass, anaerobic digestion, tidal, wave, hydro, solar and micro-generation are all failing to help meet the target.
Mr Gawne says despite the failure, it’s still better to aim high:
'Essential' that school staff recognise the signs of an allergic reaction
'High' risk of wildfires over the next week
'Come From Away' to continue after cast member injured during rehearsal
'Parks in worse state then when I started' says Peel commissioner
