There’s been just a single case of MRSA at Noble’s Hospital this year, according to Health Minister David Anderson.
In the House of Keys this week, he faced a question for written answer about the number of so-called “superbug” infections from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.
Mr Anderson explained in the UK, only bloodstream MRSA infections are counted – however at Noble’s all forms of the bacterial infection are recorded.
In 2011 there were nine cases, four in 2012, and just a single case so far this year.
