More than £10K spent on Chief Minister's South Africa trip

More than £10,000 was spent for the Chief Minister to visit South Africa.

He made the trip 'to attend corporate events and meet with officials, businesses and organisations to build commercial and economic relations' from 25 October to 2 November.

The figures have been published by the Isle of Man Government.

At the end of October, the Chief Minister Alfred Cannan visited South Africa, along with one government officer.

The trip cost over £10,000, including more than £1,600 on hotels.

In total, £8,400.39 was spent on travel expenses, £1,615. 51 on hotels, £180.84 on meals and £16.62 on other expenses.

Government publishes all expenses of ministers' off Island trips within 60 days of travel.
