Artist's replica to 'collect human understanding' of relationship with the natural satellite
An illuminated hanging model of the moon has been installed in Peel Cathedral.
‘The Museum of the Moon’ has opened to the public this morning (9 February).
The composition is described as a ‘fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition’ and features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface.
You can find out more HERE.
It’s been created by artist Luke Jerram who told Manx Radio’s Judith Ley it’s something that’s been 15 years in the making:
The 'Museum of the Moon' will be on display until 2 March usually between 9am and 9pm.
A number of events will take place which incorporate the exhibition including musical performances, Pilates and a teddy bears' picnic – you can find the details HERE.
