Nine questions for oral answer in Keys

Safeguarding and planning committee scheme to feature

Questions on safeguarding for vulnerable adults, a planning committee scheme and patient transfers will feature in this morning's House of Keys sitting.

Members have tabled nine questions for oral answer and a further 16 for written response.

Five members have put forward questions for oral response at today's sitting, including Ramsey member Lawrie Hooper.

One is about the government's policy of not conducting a serious case review into all deaths of vulnerable adults while in custody or detained under the Mental Health Act.

Mr Hooper also wants to know whether there are plans to review the planning committee public speaking scheme and why certain changes have been made to the housing points system.

There are also three questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew member Jason Moorhouse, who is seeking details about the Island's Biosphere partners, Manx representation at the International Food and Drink Event and Manx donations to UK charity campaigns.

Health Minister David Ashford will be asked to explain more about plans to use the Steam Packet Company and easyJet for patient transfers, while Education Minister Graham Cregeen is facing questions about the Scoill yn Jubilee catchment area and fresh food in school meals.

You can hear Key's questions live on AM1368 from 10am, online and via smartphone apps.
