An Isle of Man family is hoping to bring their son back to the Island so he can recover sooner and spend time with his family, especially his young son.
Today (8 September) marks two years since Ethan Richardson suffered a hypoglycaemic brain injury, at the age of 27.
The father of one has been managing his diabetes since he was 14.
In December 2024, he was transferred to Sid Watkins Rehabilitation Centre in Liverpool for further treatment.
And in September 2025 he was again transferred to a Neurological Rehabilitation Service in the UK, where he remains.
Now, on the anniversary of his injury, his mother and stepfather, Joanne and Paul Dunne, say they're still waiting for the go-ahead to bring him home:
