No overspend on capital projects - Bell

Tynwald will be asked to bring forward spending of more than £2.3 million on a raft of capital projects this year.

Five government departments and the Manx Utilities Authority are seeking additional cash for projects already approved.

Schemes range from a new engineering centre at Isle of Man College to public housing and sewerage works.

Chief Minister Allan Bell says in the vast majority of cases there has been no overspend - the building projects simply need funds already allocated to them, earlier than expected.

However, a public housing project at Janet's Corner in Castletown requires further funding beyond its original budget, of £112,700.

Mr Bell says with the exception of that scheme, the supplementary spending vote is a book-keeping adjustment:
