On-Island treatment for COPD sufferers

November 16 marks World COPD Day

The British Lung Foundation (BLF) is raising awareness about a life-limiting lung condition today, with November 16th marking World COPD day.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is thought to affect one-point-two million people worldwide - with around 115,000 people diagnosed with the condition each year.

It's predominantly a smoking-related illness but non-smokers do still suffer.

Dr Steven Spiro says those battling COPD on the Isle of Man shouldn't have to travel across for treatment.
