Exact cause of issue still to be determined
One of the flumes in the leisure pool at the NSC has been temporarily closed.
Government says this follows concerns raised just before Christmas that 'a swimmer's exit from the flume is not always as smooth as it should be'.
The exact cause of the issue is yet to be established.
The contractor is due back on Island early in the New Year and the slide will remain shut until then.
Education, Sport & Culture Minister, Julie Edge, says the decision is 'regrettable' but necessary in the interests of saefty.
She adds the flumes were tested before being deemed safe to use, but 'some issues may only become apparent after continued use'.
