
Staff at Ardwhallan in the West Baldwin valley say they are looking forward to further developing the outdoor pursuits centre, which celebrated its 30th anniversary at the weekend.
Over the years it's grown to incorporate assault courses, a mountain bike track complete with obstacles, and problem solving exercises, as well as activities like climbing and canoeing.
Ardwhallan is run as a charity, with the Department of Education and Children acting as trustee, and is mainly used by school and youth groups and young people taking their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Head of outdoor centres for the department's youth service Paul Melling says the latest project, a Viking longhouse, is nearing completion and will provide a different sort of outdoor experience:
