PEPs are helping children in care

An interactive multimedia tool has been introduced to help children in care in the Isle of Man make progress at school.

The Department of Education and Children and the Island's social services brought in the electronic Personal Education Plans earlier this month, replacing paper records.

Head of services for children at the department Sally Brookes says the programme is a stimulating and enjoyable way for young people to have their say (play audio file):

There are 130 children in care on the Island, 100 of whom school.
