Plans submitted for paddock pay-and-display

Council seeks approval for Grandstand parking

The paddock at the TT Grandstand could soon be used as a pay-and-display car park if a planning application is approved.

Douglas Borough Council has submitted proposals to use the site outside of scheduled motorsport events.

It's part of the authority's Noble's Park Traffic Management Strategy, designed to improve routes for cyclists, runners and pedestrians.

Motorhomes could also have a new designated parking area nearby, with a second application submitted by the council.

There have been long-standing issues between the authority and what it describes as 'inappropriate vehicles' parking in the vicinity.

Heavy goods vehicles and motorhomes stored in the Noble's Park region have damaged the aesthetics of the area and hindered TT preparations, according to the council.
