The largest local authority in the Island says it's getting mixed messages from government on two crucial policies.
Douglas council like other authorities, has been told it may have to take-on some services currently provided by central government, as part of a drive to reduce the overall scope of government.
But at the same time, one of its core functions, public sector housing, may be taken away.
Last week social care minister Chris Robertshaw said he was considering a single, Island-wide housing body, taking responsibility away from the 17 local authorities currently doing the job.
Leader of Douglas Borough Council David Christian says it's a worrying picture:
Inquest into death of man who died in Hillberry crash opened
Reduced hours for a number of sub-Post Offices come into effect
Gas regulation bill criticised for lack of clarity, accountability and purpose
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
