Poets' calendar raises funds for Parkinsons and Alzheimers

Pullyman-Teare create fund-raising year

Some well-known local faces have come together to highlight the reality of two debilitating illnesses.

A new 2019 calendar has been released, featuring 20 figures from the community sat in mobility scooters.

John McGuinness, the Chief Minister and the Lord Bishop are among those involved.

It's all to raise awareness of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease - incurable conditions which can strike anyone at any time and 'do not discriminate'.

The project is the brainchild of local poets Hazel Teare and Michael Cowin, better known as Pullyman.

The calendars are available from the Bridge Bookshop in Ramsey and Port Erin, Lexicon in Douglas, Greens in Peel, Karsons in Onchan, and JustCare Products (near B&Q).

All proceeds will go to local charities in aid of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
