Police officers continue to support those who report sexual offences

Changes in UK don't affect Isle of Man

Police on the Island say they will offer whatever support they can to anyone who comes forward to report a sexual offence.

The UK has recently introduced a move to make rape victims hand over mobile phones to police - or risk having their cases dropped.

The move has attracted some criticism, with some campaigners calling the new consent forms, which allow access to messages, photos and social media accounts, "a digital strip search".

A police spokesman on the Island says whilst they're aware of the move in the UK, it's not something which currently affects the Isle of Man - and they don't comment on UK police policy.
