Port Erin man admits hiding camera in woman's bedroom

Case elevated to Court of General Gaol Delivery

A Port Erin man will be sentenced later this year after admitting installing a hidden camera in a woman's bedroom.

Martyn James Bourner, of Orchard Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he entered a guilty plea.

The camera was in the victim's room between 29 October and 9 December last year.

The 36-year-old admitted trespassing into her flat to install the mini surveillance camera, which captured recordings of the victim as well as Bourner and others.

Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood elevated the case to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, where sentencing powers are greater.

He'll next appear there on 24 May; he's been bailed until that date.

Update: At Douglas Courthouse, on 24 May, Bourner was told he will be sentenced on 23 August. Bail continues.
