There'll be no hike, minister confirms
The new Minister of Health and Social Care has confirmed proposed increases in prescription charges will not go ahead.
David Ashford has ruled out the changes, consulted upon by his predecessor Kate Beecroft, at today's Tynwald sitting (Tues 16th).
The Department has had financial difficulties of late with a £30.5million loss over the past three years - these cost-saving measures were designed to combat this.
Minister Ashford said all options will be considered in an upcoming review, including making prescription charges free:
