Prison visits to resume with testing requirements

Restrictions eased following Covid outbreak at facility last month

Visits to the IoM Prison are resuming today (8 January) but with control measures in place.

Anyone visiting the Jurby facility must take a Lateral Flow Test on arrival and record a negative result before being allowed entry.

Children under the age of ten will be exempt from this.

Meanwhile, face coverings will have to be worn at all times unless seated in the visits hall.

The change comes after visits were suspended back on 5 December, 2021 due to a Covid-19 outbreak.

Justice and Home Affairs Minister, Jane Poole-Wilson, is thanking inmates and staff at the prison for their co-operation during the latest measures.
